The Atlantic City Police Department arrested a juvenile with a handgun while investigating shots fired.
Early on the morning of January 17th, patrol officers responded to the 100-north block of North Carolina Avenue for a ShotSpotter alert. A 15 year old male fled from officers with a handgun in his hand. He refused verbal commands to stop running and threw the handgun. The juvenile was ultimately arrested and placed in custody. He was found in possession of 90 individual bags of heroin.
The handgun was recovered and found to be defaced by not having an identifiable serial number, was equipped with a laser site, and extended magazine.
