A deceased woman was found in a heavily wooded area of Egg Harbor Township last week and is identified as a 71-year-old woman who went missing from her daughter’s Northfield home nearly two years ago, police said. Officers responded to the Atlantic County Utilities Authority Environmental Park on Delilah Road at 3:11 p.m. Jan. 25 and found the remains of Idalia Mendez, police said Monday in a news release.Investigators determined Mendez, who had dementia, walked away from the home in the 400 block of Walnut Avenue on July 5, 2023, police said. Authorities searched the park twice in 2023 but found no sign of Mendez.
