A Millville woman died Friday afternoon after the vehicle she was driving collided head on with an SUV on Route 55, State Police said. Maria Ortiz, 55, was driving a Chevy Malibu north when the vehicle crossed into the southbound lanes and struck a BMW near milepost 25.7 at 2:17 p.m., State Police said. Ortiz was pronounced dead at the scene, while the driver and a passenger were transported to an area hospital with moderate injuries, State Police said. The crash remains under investigation.
