Absecon officials say they’re disappointed after Wawa pulled out of a plan to build a new location at the former site of the city’s firehouse on the White Horse Pike. According to the Press of Atlantic City, Councilman Rich DeRose said on Facebook, “Wawa was committed to Absecon until late last minute our zoning office was informed that Wawa was pulling out of their commitment to the new site., Major blow to that site and we are upset and disappointed.”
