A 1,200-acre forest fire burning west of Wells Mills Road caused the closure of the Garden State Parkway between Barnegat and Lacey townships, reports the Press of Atlantic City. The New Jersey Forest Fire Service was working to contain the blaze in the Greenwood Forest Wildlife Management Area near the Ocean Township border. As of 5 p.m. Tuesday, the fire was not contained.
