The Atlantic City Police Department arrested a 17 year old male with a handgun following an alert for gunfire.
On April 19, just before 10pm, patrol officers responded to the 1100 block of Baltic Avenue in reference to a ShotSpotter alert. Evidence of gunfire was located, but no injuries reported. Officers Christopher Campbell and Brandon Solano were patrolling the area looking for a possible suspect when they located a 17-year-old male. As the officers exited their vehicle, the juvenile fled but was quickly apprehended. He was found in possession of a loaded handgun.
