Vineland Fire

A forest fire in the Peaslee Wildlife Management Area in Vineland has grown to 1,250 acres, the New Jersey Forest Fire Service said at noon Sunday. Firefighters had contained 75% of the blaze, which was first detected Friday afternoon by the Belleplain fire tower. Cow Turd Road, between Cedar Branch and Hesstown roads, was closed. Union and Bennetts Mill roads, which were closed at the start of the fire, reopened Saturday afternoon.
