Upper Township Education Budget

The Upper Township Board of Education this week approved a $41.38 million budget that increases property taxes, but by less than the district could have.According to the Press of Atlantic City, the budget approved Monday is actually a little over state caps on tax increases, because of an adjustment due to increases in state health benefit costs. But the district had applied, and been approved, for state clearance to further exceed the state cap, under a state program based both on what the district spends on each student and what taxpayers pay for school.
