A former treasurer for the Absecon Parent Teacher Organization allegedly stole more than $32,000 from the group, reports BreakingAC.com. 41 year old Khristi Mannery of Absecon, was charged with third-degree failure to make lawful disposition. Discrepancies in the PTO’s financial accounts were reported to police in May, and a thorough investigation found that funds collected during events run and sponsored by the organization were not put into the PTO accounts. Instead, investigators found Mannery used her position as treasurer to deposit the money into her personal accounts.
