The Dorset Avenue Bridge in Ventnor is currently restricted to operating in the down position, allowing vehicles to travel over the Intracoastal Waterway between Ventnor Heights and Absecon Island, but limiting marine travel for taller boats that cannot fit through the passage without raising the drawbridge.
The bridge is owned and operated by Atlantic County but according to County Executive Dennis Levinson, despite some inquiries, it is not likely to be replaced at this time.
