Boardwalk Work Approved In Ocean City

Ocean City City Council last week approved a $4.25 million contract for the reconstruction of the Boardwalk from St. Charles Place to Fifth Street, with a single vote against. According to the Press of Atlantic City, the agreement calls for a $3.99 million lump sum payment for the work, along with a contingency of $250,000, to include new timber piles, railing and decking. Ocean City received $4.86 million from New Jersey’s Boardwalk Preservation Fund, created through federal funding that was part of the American Rescue Plan.
