30 year oldTyrique Beckett, 30, from Somers Point,
NJ, pleaded guilty to third-degree endangering the welfare of a child before the Honorable Donna
M. Taylor, J.S.C., in exchange for a recommended sentence of three years in New Jersey State
Prison.
On October 21, 2024, the Somers Point Police Department received a report of a sexual assault
on a juvenile. A family member of the victim provided police with a video she received, sent from
Beckett’s phone, of Beckett receiving oral sex from the 14-year-old victim. Police interviewed the
victim, and the victim advised police that Beckett did ask her for oral sex. The victim reported that
she was not aware Beckett was recording her with his cell phone during this sex act.
As part of his sentence, Beckett must register as a sex offender in accordance with Megan’s Law,
and he will be subject to parole supervision for life.
