Atlantic City beaches will be closed until further notice as Hurricanes Imelda and Humberto are causing extremely dangerous surf conditions and rip currents, officials said Tuesday. According to the Press of Atlantic City, Beach Patrol released a statement reading, in part, “Please stay out of the water. It is huge surf down here. We are asking people to avoid the dangerous surf and stay safely out of the water until further notice.” All guarded beaches are shut down for the season and all lifeguards are off duty, the city said.
