Early State Assessment Of Beach Erosion From Nor’easter

A northeast storm this week brought notable erosion to New Jersey, a preliminary state assessment found.
U.S. Rep. Jeff Van Drew says emergency funding could bring sand to eroded beaches in South Jersey, depending on the level of damage from the weekend storm. Cleanup continues from the flooding and high winds brought to barrier island communities by an offshore storm on Sunday and Monday. Officials were still investigating the amount of sand washed off of beaches, but in some areas the storm stripped away dunes.
