Tuesday, 23 year old Daniel Zhang of Egg Harbor City pleaded guilty to three counts of third-degree invasion of privacy, related to an incident that occurred on September 16, 2024 in Hamilton Township. The defendant’s recommended sentence is five years of probation, 200 hours of community service, and a mental health and
psycho-sexual evaluation. On September 16, 2024, Hamilton Township Police responded to Planet Fitness for a report of a man, later identified as Zhang, using his phone to record another person, without consent, in the
men’s restroom. Upon arrival, Zhang spoke to officers and admitted to recording other men while
they used the restroom at Planet Fitness and a local WaWa. An examination of Zhang’s phone revealed 49 such videos. He is scheduled for sentencing on March 13th.
