The dredging of the waterways around the south end of the island in Brigantine is expected to start in the coming weeks, Mayor Vince Sera announced recently. According to the Press of Atlantic City the work will focus on the Brigantine Channel around Boot Island.”The city of Brigantine has been working for many years, alongside Sen. Vince Polistina, to address ongoing navigation issues in the back bay waterways behind Brigantine,” said Sera in a statement. “Over time, several of these channels have filled in with sediment, making them difficult to navigate, particularly at low tide.”
