Longport has announced its new police chief. Lt. Ray Burgan will replace Chief Frank Culmone, whose retirement became effective Friday, reports BreakingAC.com. Burgan will continue the department’s mission of professional, community-focused policing, according to a release. Burgan was selected through an intensive application process. Two lieutenants vied for the position, according to Commissioner of Public Safety Dan Lawler.
