The war between North Wildwood and the State of New Jersey has officially moved from the boardwalk to the courtroom, just days before a major winter storm is set to batter the coast. MyPhillyAlive reports North Wildwood officials announced a lawsuit against the NJ Department of Environmental Protection (DEP), accusing the agency of “gross negligence” after it abruptly canceled a $54 million beach replenishment project in November. Erosion has created vertical “sand cliffs” nearly 12 feet high between 12th and 16th Streets.
