Pleasantville Board Of Education Issues No Confidence Vote For President

A special meeting of the Pleasantville Board of Education ended with lots of questions but no real answers Wednesday night. According to BreakingAC.com, the aim appeared to be the search for a new superintendent, after Marilyn Martinez’s resignation was accepted by the body at last week’s regular meeting. But it ended with the board casting a 4-3 vote of no confidence in BOE President Doris Rowell, who walked out before the meeting ended. In between, there were allegations of ethics violations against Rowell and questions about the superintendent’s whereabouts. The meeting began with an executive session, resulting in a vote to give Martinez a Rice notice that her employment would be discussed at the Feb. 10 meeting.
