The Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office announced on Wednesday that a Barnegat Township man who admitted to killing his parents in 2023 might spend up to 60 years in prison.Before Judge Guy P. Ryan, Michael Mulgrew, 37, entered a guilty plea to two charges of murder in connection with the deaths of Eugene Mulgrew, 71, and Cheryl Mulgrew, 69, at their Barnegat residence. He is set for sentence on June 5, at which point the state will seek two consecutive 30-year prison terms, the Prosecutor’s Office said in a news release.
