For the first time since taking office in January, Governor Mikie Sherrill met with Mayor Marty Small Sr. and other municipal leaders on Tuesday.The Democratic governor met with senior city officials, City Council President Aaron “Sporty” Randolph, and fellow Democrat Small Business Administrator Anthony Swan in City Hall in a meeting that was not made public in advance.The redevelopment of Bader Field, the state’s casino payment-in-lieu-of-taxes legislation, improvements along Atlantic Avenue, anti-violence and crime reduction initiatives, and increased programming for youths and seniors were the main topics of discussion at the meeting, according to Small.
