Two Northfield Cousins Jailed In Alleged Kidnapping, Assault

Two cousins from Northfield are jailed after they allegedly kidnapped and beat a man from Morris County last week. According to BreakingAC.com, Siquaya Smith, 37, and Louis Cadet, 40, are charged with first-degree kidnapping, along with robbery, aggravated assault, conspiracy and weapons offenses. The victim told police he was on his way to work, when a masked man forced him into a vehicle, struck him in the head with an object, hit him in the ribs and was pushed down into the back seat floor, where he remained pinned. His phone, wallet and keys were taken and he also was forced to call his financial adviser and have $25,000 wired to AmoryCare LLC, a home healthcare provider in Union, that lists Smith as its authorized agent. It was the victim’s Apple Watch that led to his rescue, after it sent an emergency SOS notification to Dover police Thursday morning, according to the report.
