On February 13, detectives of the Special Investigations Section in Atlantic City were conducting a surveillance operation in the 700 and 800 blocks of Virginia Avenue targeting two men in possession of firearms.
During the surveillance, the detectives observed the targets of the investigation, 18 year old Mahrod Barley-Stukes and 24 year old Kasean Griffin. After observing them for a period of time, the detectives converged on the men. Both were arrested after being found in possession of a loaded handgun in their waistband. Barley-Stukes was additionally found in possession of more than three grams of cocaine.
