Ocean CIty Airport Proposal

Leon Grisbaum wants to push the reqind button and return Ocean CIty’s airport to its earlier days, with a tarmac crowded with planes and a bustling restaurant. According to the Press of Atlantic City he’s willing to chip in to help make it happen, offering the city a $3 million donation toward a new airport terminal building. On Tuesday, officials gathered in a stiff breeze under sunny skies to break ground on the Leon and Elizabeth Grisbaum Terminal Building. Grisbaum’s wife died last year. More work remains before the design of the building will be finalized, and the city is hoping for a sizable grant from the Federal Aviation Administration to help cover the total cost, with the potential for the city, the FAA and Grisbaum each covering about a third.
