We now know the name of a man killed in a boating accident in Cape May harbor Wednesday. Authorities say 45-year-old Christopher W. Heitman died early Wednesday morning after being thrown from a vessel near the U.S. Coast Guard station. According to the Press of Atlantic City, Heitman was operating a 17′ Sea Hunt in Cape May Harbor with one occupant when a dredge pipe broke free from its mooring and entered the channel. The vessel struck the dredge pipe and the operator and occupant were ejected at approximately 2:20 a.m.
