A seven foot statue of civil rights activist Fannie Lou Hamer is joining a collection of artifacts at Jim Whelan Boardwalk Hall in Atlantic City.The statue unveiled Tuesday can be found shortly past the hall’s entryway, shy of the steps leading to the arena where, in 1964, Hamer pressured party leaders to ensure equal rights for Black Americans during the Democratic National Convention.
