A Rio Grande man is under arrest, after authorities found heroin in his home. The Press of Atlantic City reports 32 year old , Jorge Aviles was taken into custody following a search of his home in the 1000 block of Route 47. The search found Aviles to be in possession of about 2,800 bags of suspected heroin, $753 in cash and a dagger. Also, suspected heroin previously seized in the investigation was found to contain fentanyl and xylazine by the county forensic laboratory. Authorities said the combination of these chemicals increases the psychotropic effects of heroin, contributes to it being less receptive to naloxone and causes necrosis in the human body. Aviles was sent to the Cape May County jail.
