Wednesday, a judge will decide whether work to replace a section of the Wildwoods Boardwalk can continue after a rival construction company filed suit. According to the Press of Atlantic City, L. Feriozzi Concrete Company of Atlantic City filed the suit Oct. 11 against the City of Wildwood and Fred M. Schiavone Construction, contending a contract awarded to Schiavone lacks a sub-contractor needed for steel work related to the repairs. Both companies bid to carry out several phases of the Boardwalk repairs earlier this year. Schiavone was the lowest overall bidder at about $7.2 million, compared with Feriozzi’s $7.9 million bid, the lawsuit states. The city is not commenting on the litigation.
