Housing Discrimination

The New Jersey Attorney General’s Office will undergo enforcement action for housing discrimination in Atlantic, Ocean and four other counties, Attorney General Matthew J. Platkin said Tuesday. According to the Press of Atlantic City a preliminary investigation by the state Division on Civil Rights found that in all eight cases, individuals receiving rental assistance were denied the opportunity to rent because of the assistance they were receiving or were denied the opportunity for rental assistance due to a landlord’s refusal to complete and return required documentation.
