Four Atlantic City men were charged following a drug probe that led to the discovery of more than 10,000 baggies of heroin, more than a pound of cocaine, and paraphernalia used to distribute narcotics. Police say
Juan Howard, 30, James Clegg Jr., 33, and Alvin Whitaker, 31, were charged with two counts of possession of a controlled a dangerous substance, one count of money laundering, and other charges. Donte Howard, 37, was charged with two counts of possession of CDS, possession of CDS with intent to distribute, and possession of CDS with intent to distribute within 1,000 feet of a school zone.
Detectives with the city police’s Special Investigation Section were surveilling a residence in the 1300 block of Caspian Avenue that was being used by Juan Howard, Clegg and other associates to store and distribute narcotics.
A motor vehicle stop on Wednesday where detectives located 50 bags of heroin and more than $8,400 in cash led to the arrest of Clegg and Whitaker, while Juan Howard was arrested for outstanding warrants after he was seen in the area of the stop, police said.
