Update on a story we told yout about earlier. A Barnegat township man has been charged in the murders of his parents, an incident that also caused the temporary sheltering-in-place of area schools. 34 year old Michael Mulgrew is accused of stabbing 71 year old Eugene Mulgrew and 69 year old Cheryl Mulgrew to death. At around 11 a.m. Thursday, township police arrived to a residence on Lincoln Avenue to assist medical personnel with performing a mobile outreach at the residence. As police approached the residence, they saw a man, later identified as Michael Mulgrew, walking away. They found the victims in a bedroom, along with a knife.
