State lawmakers are considering making a decision on legislation to end smoking in the Atlantic City resort’s casinos. Assembly Speaker Craig Coughlin, D-Middlesex, said during a news conference the legislation that was first proposed 17 years ago.While Casino workers have lobbied for the bill’s passage casino officials and heads of a local union representing hundreds of workers believe a smoking ban could lead several gaming businesses in town to close.
