Somers Point Man, Implicated In Murder, Takes Own Life

A Somers Point man wanted in the shooting death of his uncle in Maryland has died by suicide in Atlantic City. According to the Press of Atlantic City, 29 year old Elijah Drew was accused of shooting and killing 62 year old Lewis Parker Sr. of Brandywine, Maryland, late Monday, according to police in Prince George’s County, Maryland. Drew then traveled to Atlantic City, where he died from what police believed to be a self-inflicted gunshot wound Tuesday afternoon. About 11:50 p.m. Monday, officers responded to the Brandywine, Maryland, residence for a report of a shooting. There they found Parker suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. He was taken to a nearby hospital, where he died several hours later, police said.
