Voter Turnout Expected To Be Low Tuesday

Headed into Tuesday, about 8% of Atlantic County’s 200,737 registered voters had cast mail-in or early voting ballots already, as well as about 8.5% of the 75,689 registered voters in Cape May County, according to figures supplied by elections officials, reports the Press of Atlantic City. Polls close at 8 p.m. Tuesday for an election with the state Senate and Assembly at the top of the ticket. The executive director of the William J. Hughes Center for Public Policy at Stockton University predicts voter turnout will fall somewhere in the range of 22 to 25%, based on past numbers.
