OC Police Officer Convicted Of Simple Assault

An Ocean City police officer was convicted of simple assault after a trial in municipal court earlier this month, court records show. According to the Cape May County Herald, Christian D. Palzer Jr. was convicted of the disorderly persons offense in Somers Point Municipal Court. Palzer had pleaded not guilty to the charge after a complaint was filed March 5, relating to an incident the day before. No details of the incident were included in the records. Palzer was suspended with pay from the Ocean City force pending an internal affairs investigation.
