An officer involved shooting in Longport Saturday is under investigation by The Atlantic County Prosecutor’s Office .
At approximately 11:42 AM on Saturday, Longport police officers responded to a residence in response to a welfare check on an individual who had not been heard from in several days. In the course of the response, an officer-involved shooting occurred. The details involving the shooting have not been determined at this time. The Longport Police Department is fully cooperating with the prosecutor’s office during this process.
