The Friends of Jean Webster, also known as Sister Jean’s Kitchen, has announced that the group will stop giving out clothing and soap products next year to focus on feeding the homeless and low-income people.
Since the organization wasn’t able to serve hot meals for the past two years at its 108 N. Pennsylvania Ave. location, Kate Curry and other Friends of Jean Webster volunteers used the site to head a closet program. Since the organization is able to use the space again to feed people, the closet program will end by March 31.
