Galloway Township Town Council voted unanimously last week to start the process of having the speed limit reduced on Old New York Road from 50 mph to 45 mph from Route 9 to Motts Creek Road. According to the Press of Atlantic City, the ordinance is scheduled for a public hearing and final vote at 6:30 p.m. Feb. 27 in the municipal complex at 300 E. Jimmie Leeds Road. If approved, the next steps would then lie with Atlantic County.
