Ocean City plans to invest about $11 million in Merion Park in an effort to stem flood waters from storms and exceptional high tide. The first phase of work installed pumping stations in the neighborhood to speed the drainage process. The Press of Atlantic City reports the next phase will cost more and could bring more significant change to the neighborhood in the shadow of the 34th Street bridge. City Council recently approved a $10.8 million contract with L. Feriozzi Concrete of Atlantic City for the second phase of the Merion Park work, to include raising roads, adding three new pump stations and expanding another to move water out of the neighborhood, and creating a berm around the neighborhood.
