Sea Isle Braces For Storm

Coastal low-pressure systems will move into our area starting late tonight (Friday, March 22) and will linger through Monday or Tuesday. Sea Isle City can expect moderate to heavy rain starting early Saturday morning and continuing into the evening hours. At this time, 2- to 3-inches of rain are expected – and we can also expect strong, gusty winds of 35- to 45-mph.
The National Weather Service has issued a Flood Watch due to excessive rainfall, which may cause flooding in low-lying areas. When the rain moves out of our area, a secondary low-pressure system is expected to form off our coast, causing continued onshore winds, which will produce tidal flooding for several tide cycles into next week. At this time, minor tidal flooding is expected.
