Atlantic City Police completed an investigation resulting in the arrest of three and the recovery of a handgun and drugs.
On March 21, 2024, detectives of the Special Investigations Section concluded a one-month investigation into the distribution of illegal narcotics with a court authorized search warrant in the first block of south Kentucky Avenue.
The target of the investigation, 23 year old Semaj Poteat of Atlantic City , had an outstanding warrant for his arrest and was taken into custody as he left the apartment building. Once inside the residence, detectives located two additional occupants, 26 year old Laquanda Bailey and 23 year old Tyjur Blocker, both from Atlantic City. During a search of the residence, detectives recovered a loaded handgun, 14 grams of cocaine, more than 15 grams of heroin, 29 individual bags of heroin more than $1,400 in cash, and paraphernalia used in the packaging and distribution of narcotics.
