U.S. Rep. Jeff Van Drew wants to call in HUD’s Office of Inspector General to investigate the Atlantic City Housing Authority, to find out why conditions for residents are so bad. He met with about 50 residents at the community center Friday morning.
Stanley Holmes is the 420-unit public housing complex where about 130 residents are suing over lack of heat and hot water and other unsafe and unhealthy conditions. Van Drew said millions of dollars have been spent by the authority but living conditions remain unsafe and unhealthy at some of its public housing complexes.
