Erosion at the Cove in Brigantine due to strong coastal storms over the past year has caused the beach to lose more than 900 square feet of sand, limited 4-by-4 vehicle access and led residents living along the South End beach to look into building bulkheads to protect their homes. And the Press of Atlantic City reports in an effort to better address the issues, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, state Department of Environmental Protection, Atlantic County Office of Emergency Management and state officials visited the beach last week to survey the beach.
