The Atlantic City Police Department arrested a man wanted for robbery and aggravated assault while in possession of a handgun. Officers recently observed 40 year old Ronald Johnson of Atlantic City in the 1500 block of Atlantic Avenue. A wanted warrant had been issued for Johnson’s arrest on April 11 after he was identified as the suspect in a robbery.
During the robbery incident, Johnson assaulted a female acquaintance by striking her with a handgun and kicking her multiple times while she was on the ground. He demanded money and threatened the victim’s life before fleeing with a cell phone. The victim was transported to the AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center, City Division, with non-life threatening injuries.
During Johnson’s arrest, he was found in possession of a loaded handgun and 15 bags of heroin. Johnson was also found to be a fugitive with a wanted warrant from York, PA.
