Small Discusses Home Search, ACPO Responds

Thursday’s execution of five search warrants on his home and vehicles last week were part of an investigation into a “family matter” being addressed through counseling. The Press of Atlantic City reports Mayor Marty Small Sr. said so in a news conference Monday morning. Small spoke from City Council chambers with his wife La’Quetta — the superintendent of city schools — and teenage daughter and son by his side. The Atlantic County Prosecutor’s Office issued a statement Monday reading, in part, ” Law enforcement personnel from the Atlantic County Prosecutor’s Office conducted a court approved search of the residence of Mayor Marty Small, Sr. and Dr. Laquetta Small on Thursday, March 28, 2024. The men and women of this office involved in the search conducted themselves in the highest professional manner. Standard operating procedures and protocols in executing residential search warrants were utilized to ensure the safety of all occupants of the
residence, neighbors, and law enforcement alike.”
