The city’s Board of Education remained tight-lipped about the charges against schools Superintendent La’Quetta Small but invoked the doctrine of necessity during a special meeting Thursday to allow the entire board to be involved in decisions regarding her. The Press of Atlantic City reports board president Shay Steele said she had no comment at the end of the meeting, and said all board members will now be allowed to participate in the process. The approval came after board members convened into a 40-minute executive session to discuss personnel issues.
