Galloway Township Man Handed 10 Year Sentence

35 year old Kalief Lyons of Galloway Township was sentenced on one count of second-degree certain persons not to possess firearms to a term of 10 years in New Jersey State Prison with a mandatory period of parole ineligibility of five
years. Lyons’ codefendant, Matthew Lynch, is scheduled for sentencing on July 9,
2024. On November 30, 2022, police responded to a call that a male subject, later
identified as Lyons, had brandished a handgun. Later that day, police located the
handgun in a vehicle Lyons previously occupied. The handgun had an illegal large-
capacity ammunition magazine with 13 illegal hollow point ammunition rounds in the
magazine and one round in the chamber. Lyons was also found to be in possession of
75 wax folds of suspected heroin and five small rocks of suspected crack cocaine.
