Two Arrested In Three Separate Incidents In AC

The Atlantic City Police Department responded to three serious incidents and arrested two men on the morning of May 12, 2024.
At 5:39 AM, patrol officers responded to Georgia and Pacific Avenues for a report of a man bleeding. Arriving officers located 41 year old Luis Mateo suffering from a gunshot wound. Mateo was uncooperative with officers and later detectives.
Mateo was found in possession of several bags of cocaine and arrested
At 9:06 AM, police went to the 1500 block of Atlantic Avenue to take a report of a stolen vehicle. The owner left the vehicle running while going into a store. 90 minutes later the stolen vehicle was located, being driven by 34 year old Chreshull Rucker of Atlantic City, who took off when police tried to pull themover and crashed into another vehicle before leaving the roadway and striking multiple objects including a fence and sign.
While investigating this incident, patrol officers responded to the first block of south Kentucky Avenue for a man that was stabbed. Officers located the victim, 36, of Atlantic City, and provided medical aid before he was transported to the medical center. It was clear that the victim’s injuries were not sustained immediately before the officer’s arrival and were sustained a period of time prior.
An investigation identified Rucker as the suspect involved in the stabbing. He was charged the following day.
