Atlantic City Police investigated a shooting incident that led to the arrest of a juvenile for shooting himself.
On June 16, patrol officers responded to Chelsea Avenue and the Boardwalk for a report of a male shot. Officers arrived to find a juvenile male, 16, suffering from a gunshot wound. The juvenile was transported to the hospital with a non-life-threatening injury. During the course of the investigation, the juvenile and his Mother were interviewed a second time by detectives. The detectives learned that their initial interview was completely false. The juvenile shot himself while inside of a stall in a public restroom on the Boardwalk. The juvenile illegally brought a firearm on a trip to Atlantic City from Philadelphia.
