A man was arrested Saturday night in North Wildwood after allegedly brandishing a handgun causing the temporary evacuation of an amusement park pier, police said. Surfside Pier, owned and operated by Morey’s Piers, was shut down at 7:15 p.m. while the incident, which was unrelated to the pier, was being investigated, according to Kyle Morey, the amusement park’s marketing director. No problems were discovered and the pier opened shortly after the incident.
